Cars

I’ve always liked cars. Ever since I was a little boy, I started drawing them, collecting cards with pictures of them and finally driving them. But there comes a time in a man’s life when he feels the need of going from point A to point B sitting down in a seat and handling a steering wheel. That’s why I decided to buy a car in the near(far) future. I’m thinking of a second-hand vehicle that I will buy in a year or so, without financial aid from my parents or from banks.

That is the main goal, to buy it from my own earnings.

Until then, let me share with you my car wish-list.

1. Volvo S40

Smaller than the S80 (which is also more expensive), but bigger than the beautiful C30. The C30 is to small for my 100+ kilos and also it has only 2 doors (and I’m looking for a family car). I’ve always had a thing for this Swedish brand, no only because of the safety features it markets, but I also love the Volvo design. It’s discrete, elegant, yet powerful.

2. Hemi Cuda

I’m absolutely sure that I will never drive one of these (not in Romania of course), and at this moment, I would probably have to get another job only to pay for the fuel it consumes. This is the ultimate definition of a muscle car. It’is not a realistic wish for me, I only wanted to put a picture of it on my blog, because it’s a beautiful automobile.

3. Golf IV

Not Golf V, but IV. It looks a little less of a Peugeot than the last model from Volkswagen and also it looks a lot more rugged and powerful. Not only that, but the Golf has always been a good investment, the prices for this auto don’t drop over the years like other brands. This is why it’s quite expensive even when it’s second-hand.

4. Ford Focus

In my opinion, a good quality/price ratio, and a good looking car. And, it’s full of Ford Focus in Romania, that’s why the prices are low when it’s second-hand.

5. Bora

A bigger Golf.

6. Honda Civic

This is like a step into the future. But still.. the price is way out of here.

7. Audi A4

This is the car I’d buy tomorrow if I’d have the money. This is my dream car. A true masterpiece of German engineering.
The new model looks nice too.

But, I know it will take a lot of money for that to happen, I think for now I’m going to have to settle with something like this:

I’m glad to see you dreaming dude. :)
The article was really nice to read.
Here are my comments on your “wish list”:
    1. Volvo S40 Looks great but it’s not exactly cheap, or sporty. You are over 100 kilos so the sports part i understand. I also think that this car’s insurance will be a small problem.
    2. Hemi Cuda NO WAY That’s GLOBAL WARMING DUDE. Worst than that, it’s a dragster.
    3. Golf IV The Design is boxy, cold, so german. Golf V looks much sexyier than this one. Good choice for your second-hand-wish-list though.;)
    4. Ford Focus Hmm, it looks big, but your’re also big so I guess that’s not a problem. Cool design but the spare parts, are quite expensive .
    5. Bora - Nothing Special. This car’s design bores me.
    6. Honda Civic - It looks futurist. But those headlights cost a fortune. Perhaps a bit girlish.
    7. Audi A4 Oh yeah, this is a great car, i agree with you on this one. Easy to find a second hand A4.
And the last one is a splendid Dacia. Dude, I thought you’re were writing here about cars, not coffins. What happened? This one has no safety measures what so ever. Forget about it :D
    I’m expecting to see you second-hand-car wish-list, dude :)

    Thanks for the feedback.

    1. I don’t like sporty cars. I’ll go for a sporty car when I’ll be over 40 and I will have money to spare for a new car.

    2. Come on, it’s a nice car :)
    3. That’s exactly what I like about the Golf IV. The design is so German.. Of course the V is sexier, it’s almost French :)
    4. Todi’s got one (the model with the bigger trunk)
    5. Yeah.. it’s a Golf, but with an ass.

Dude, the Dacia is not a car. Let me quote:
“Dacia is not a car. It’s SUPER CAR ! Some may argue that it has an engine, four wheels, it makes funny driving noises and can actually move. Experts however concluded that it is not a car of our time. It’s a car of future ! It was prooved that it works for over 30 years the same (noisy) way it worked when it was new! You won’t find such a long-lasting car nowhere in the world!!” From Wikipedia. Oups.. it’s not Wikipedia :)
